I am back from the Fillmore Jazz Festival and have a couple of weekends off before flying to Nashville the end of this month for a Marmalade Pink Spa Retreat.
In the meantime for you paper fans I have a free image to share today as seen to the left. This is the Wright Brothers dog Scipio, actually it is Orville's dog he got in March of 1917 (14 years after the first flight). I bet you didn't even know they had a dog, much less a Saint Bernard by the name of Scipio. He looks like he's been shaved in this photo and since the Wright Brothers lived in North Carolina that is probably the nicest thing you could do for this kind of dog.
The stories behind the photos are the best and then when you add them to art even more fun!
If you want a high-res version shoot me an email at information@charmingsam.com and I'll send it to you.
Cheers!

i love scipio! anything animal and i'm happy....
Glad you enjoyed the festival and your retreat sounds marvellous!! You're right - I had no idea the Wright Brothers even had a dog much less a St. Bernard!!
Oh my gosh, this brings back memories! My great-grandma had a Saint Bernard, and my oldest sister used to ride the dog around the yard like a pony when she was little.
The Wright Brothers lived in Ohio, but came to North Carolina to try out their inventions. Their shop is in Greenfield Village in Detroit. Confused? At least the dog and the porch look southern, especially the tile. Love the picture! Love the big ole dog! A North Carolian. Love the blog!
